Delete your ScoutSheet account

Who this is for

This page is for ScoutSheet, the tryout evaluation app for youth baseball and softball leagues, published by ScoutSheet (scoutsheet.org). Volunteers (board members, check-in volunteers and coaches who evaluate) have accounts. Children never do. If you are a parent and want your child's information erased, ask your league: it can erase a player directly.

How to delete your account

In the ScoutSheet iPhone app: on the Tryouts screen, tap More (•••) at the top right, choose Delete account, and confirm.

In the ScoutSheet Android app: on the Tryouts screen, tap More (⋮) at the top right, choose Delete account, and confirm.

On the web:

  1. Go to scoutsheet.org/home/account and sign in the way you usually do (email code, Google or Apple).
  2. Read what will be deleted, then type DELETE in the box.
  3. Choose Delete my account. It is deleted right away and can't be undone.

If you are your league's only Admin, the page tells you first. You can still delete your account; your league then asks ScoutSheet to add a new Admin.

What is deleted

  • Your account and your sign-in methods, right away. You are signed out everywhere.
  • Your email address in ScoutSheet, right away, and your roles in every league.
  • What the app or browser saved for you on that device, including scores that haven't synced yet (you are warned first, so you can let them sync).

What is kept, and for how long

  • Scores and notes you already synced stay with the league, under your name, because they are part of its tryout records. They are deleted with the rest of the season's scores 12 months after the league closes the season, unless the league has set a different period or placed a legal hold. A league Admin can also erase a player, which deletes that player's scores at once.
  • Your name and the date the account was deleted, without your email, so the league's records keep their author. Kept for as long as ScoutSheet holds that league's records, and never used to contact you or sign you in.
  • The league's administration log keeps what you did there (for example, that you released a report), with no email address.
  • Backups: the database keeps point-in-time history for up to 7 days, so your email can remain there for up to 7 days after deletion.
